Settings, Updates, and Troubleshooting
Configure MailFleet preferences and resolve common activation, deployment, connectivity, analytics, and update problems.
Appearance and language
Open Settings → Appearance to choose:
- light or dark theme;
- English or Simplified Chinese.
The choice is saved locally. A language change updates navigation, controls, status labels, and supported messages without restarting an active deployment.
Notifications
Current builds expose notification settings and supported delivery channels. Configure only channels you control.
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- Enable the events you want.
- Configure the available channel.
- Use the channel test when available.
- Confirm receipt before relying on the notification.
A saved preference is not proof that an external channel is reachable. Re-test after credential or network changes.
Credential export defaults
Use Settings → Credential export to select CSV columns or create a text-line template. See Credentials and export.
License
Use Settings → License or the license page to:
- view status and expiry;
- refresh online validation;
- reactivate after an authorized unbind;
- deactivate the current device.
See Installation and activation for recovery actions.
Updates and announcements
Open the update dialog to check current release metadata. On supported Windows builds, MailFleet downloads the installer, verifies its SHA-256 value against signed metadata, and launches it.
Before updating:
- finish or stop deployments;
- export important credentials;
- keep the device connected to power;
- close other MailFleet instances.
Announcements appear in the notification center and can contain maintenance or update guidance.
Deployment input errors
Row format is invalid
Compare the row with the example for the selected apex, subdomain, or mixed mode. Remove extra delimiters and ensure required values are present.
Auto-fix is unavailable
Only rows with a known safe correction are fixable. Correct other rows in the source input and parse again.
Domain total does not match server total
Return to domain selection or generation. Every server must resolve to one intended deployment domain/hostname.
DNS-provider validation fails
Check:
- account and token/AccessKey values;
- zone-list and record-write permissions;
- whether the selected provider matches the credential type;
- system time and network access;
- provider-side IP restrictions.
Do not paste provider secrets into support screenshots.
Deployment failures
SSH connection fails
Test the same IP and port from the operating device. Confirm routing, firewall rules, user, authentication, and SSH service.
Remote setup stops
Open the host detail log and identify the last successful stage. Check remote disk/memory, package access, required ports, DNS readiness, and compatibility with the chosen server family.
A custom configuration causes failure
Compare the file with its default. Restore the default and test a single host. Reintroduce changes incrementally.
Deployment was stopped
Inspect every host. Waiting hosts may not have started, while running hosts may have completed some remote changes. Do not assume automatic rollback.
Connectivity and analytics
Asset shows not tested
Run a connectivity test. Gray status is not a failure.
Asset has no SSH credential
MailFleet cannot collect logs or test that host until authorized connection information is available.
Analytics has no data
Enable monitoring, collect logs, confirm remote mail activity, and choose a time range containing those events.
Collection repeatedly fails
Test a single server, inspect connection errors, confirm log permissions, and verify the server type is supported.
Update problems
No update is shown
Confirm network access and check again. The installed build may already be current.
Download verification fails
Discard the downloaded file and retry on a stable connection. Do not run an installer whose integrity check failed.
Automatic installation is unavailable
Use the official download guidance shown by the application for that platform.
Safe support information
When requesting help, include:
- MailFleet version;
- operating system;
- page and action;
- server type;
- sanitized error text;
- whether the problem affects one host or a full batch.
Do not include passwords, private keys, DNS-provider secrets, full activation codes, or unredacted credential exports.
